More than a career, more than a job, more than strict definitions of the term "work", I choose to believe that this is a calling. And what better way than to fulfill this calling than to bless others with what He's blessed us with, by sharing this wonderful gift of music?

In light of this, I wish to echo the striking words of the wise Dr. Onofre Pagsanhan - Sir Pagsi to me and all those he has touched, personally or vicariously - stage father, father, director, author, composer, lecturer, multi-awarded English professor, Atenean, and founder of Dulaang Sibol, who aside from practically breaking my heart in front of all those high school boys trying to get real tears out of this little sinta for "Sinta!" back in 2002 and who also stood by one of the greatest trials of my lifetime, also happens to be one of the most renowned teachers in the country:







My ambition is to be like a used up toothpaste tube,
all squeezed out,
twisted whichever way,
folded many times over,
scraped clean
of all the beautiful things
God has given me for giving away.

Call me dramatic, but really, we only live once. No use wasting toothpaste; no use wasting life. ;-)

Youthful and vibrant, with a voice as clear as crystal, Jessica Fernando is a vocalist, event host, voice talent, model, writer. She has been actively performing onstage as a singer, master of ceremonies and lead stage actress since the age of three.

In 4th grade at Miriam College, Jessica was picked to be one of the main hosts of junior reporting show 5&Up (ABC5/GMA7). In the middle of college at the Ateneo de Manila, she landed a spot in the Top 30 of ABS-CBN's Search for a Star in a Million Season 2, and also hosted weekend show SA YAHWEH.

Aside from performing as a soloist, Jessica also took part in creating and performing “Real Love” which won first place in the iKLR (I Keep Love Real) National Thematic Songwriting Competition in 2007, radio jingles of Superbrand Metathione and Cebu-based Fine Cuisine Restaurant & Bar, and the official theme song of bi-annual mega-bridal fair Dream Weddings & Destinations hosted by VRC Creative Events and mybridalfair.com.

Though classically trained, and with the music of Disney as her first love, Jessica is able to perform musical pieces from a very wide span of genres including pop, ballads, r&b, soul, alternative, rock and OPM. At present, her heart is captured by classic big band jazz.
